When using a computer, you don't need a separate APP or program to do it.
NOTE TO MOBILE USERS: While most devices have same or similar directions, please refer to your device's HELP file for instructions.
Go to a website or Page or Google search to locate the photo you want to copy. I am using a copy of the White House direct from their website. You will notice that there is text on the page. I only want the picture so I need to eliminate all that text.
To get just the photo and no extra text or information, you need to capture just the photo on your screen.
To do that, hold your mouse over ONLY the picture and then RIGHT click your mouse. Select OPEN IMAGE IN A NEW TAB. This separates the photo from any other photos or text that's on the screen. Make sure you are selecting OPEN IMAGE and not OPEN LINK or OPEN TEXT.
Open Image In A New Tab |
Your photo should look like this with no other text or photos on your screen.
Image as it appears in a new tab |
Hold mouse in center of the photo and RIGHT click. Then select COPY IMAGE.
COPY the image |
Go to where you want to paste the photo. You can put it almost anywhere - in a group, on your timeline, in a message, or in a comment of someone's post. Now, RIGHT click, then select PASTE IMAGE.
PASTE photo |
I decided to paste the photo to my Facebook timeline. If you do this as a practice measure OR if you don't want anyone to see the photo at the moment because you are saving it to add text to it later, or because you are doing test posts, make the audience ONLY ME, not PUBLIC as you see in the above picture.
This keeps it on your timeline but only you can see it. When you are ready for others to see it, change the ONLY ME part to FRIENDS or PUBLIC.
The photo is now waiting for your new text to add to the post.
